Meet
Ozzy

Ozzy
is a 5 year old, 58lb Australian Cattle Dog/Australian Shepherd mix. He is a big ball of energy, he loves going outside for walks, running and swimming and will need someone with an active lifestyle or a good amount of space for him to run around. He LOVES fetch and chasing tennis balls both on land and in the water, but he is more than happy to chase his stuffed animals and chew toys if you're willing to throw them. He is house trained and knows all of his basic commands, including sit, lay down, stay and paw.

Australian Shepherds/Cattle Dogs are very intelligent breeds, so
Ozzy
will need a lot of mental stimulation in addition to exercise. He has been working hard on his "brain games" with treat mazes and puzzles and would benefit from someone who is willing to keep up with his training because he loves to be challenged and learn new things. Because
Ozzy
is so intelligent, he gets bored if he is by himself for too long. He will bark sometimes if he is home alone for long periods but otherwise he is a good boy with no other destructive behavior.

Ozzy
was cooped up in a shelter before he was picked up by his foster family, so he has had to adjust a little bit to his spoiled house dog life. He wasn't used to long walks on a leash so he pulls a little bit, but he is improving with his Gentle Leader leash. He is also skeptical of some men on the street and when they come to the house unannounced, so he needs a proper introduction or a closer eye on him to make sure he is comfortable.
Ozzy
also HATES skateboards and the people on them. It is best to be cautious but he normally listens well when told to sit and stay as they go by.

When at home in his own environment,
Ozzy
is an absolute sweetheart. He plops down for belly rubs just about anywhere and will nuzzle his head right up to you for your attention. He gets overwhelmed and a bit defensive with too many dogs around, so dog parks aren't his thing. But he gets along great with his roommate's small dog and should be okay with any smaller/medium breed with a proper introduction.
Ozzy
is microchipped and current on his vaccines. His adoption fee is $250 which helps cover medical expenses and supplies.

*
Ozzy
will require a home visit prior to completing adoption.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
