Riley was rehomed to us one month after another family adopted her from Maricopa County shelter. The reason for rehoming was strictly loss of employment/lack of income to care for her. Having been a shelter dog Riley was already spayed, up-to-date on shots, and microchipped. It was also evident she'd had puppies; however, the original family had no information about how far prior it had been. , She was timid but very friendly, her coat shed terribly, and the family had been advised to brush her teeth/gums. , Our experience with Riley has been as a phenomenally sweet friend who adores snuggles and is incredibly tame with our kids (she follows basic commands from our 4 year old and is not phased by a 2 year old trying to sit on her). She was at first timid, not really knowing how to play outside (she has since learned fetch but could use work on bringing the ball back). , What Riley likes: , Snuggles, hugs, kisses, car rides, chew toys (we keep nylabone for our other dog but Riley goes for any chewy and the occasional wooden train track piece from our son's toys), walks-excellent leash training, car rides/groomer, treats, lots of licking which I suspect is impacted by stress, eating her doggy sister's food when not supervised--this has improved over the months but has added weight she should lose.
