Date of Birth/Approximate age:
2 years
About Me:
Harvey is just over two years old. He is a Labrador Retriever and American Staffordshire Terrier mix. The earliest known history about Harvey is that he was taken in by the City of Tulsa Animal Welfare at 5 months old.
Harvey is a good balance of fun-loving play but also appreciates a long nap and belly rub. He gets along with cats, loves kids, and gets along with most dogs. When Mom goes into the office, Harvey takes a nice long nap on his chair and happily greets her at the door when she returns. At least once a week he loves to get exercise and see his friends at doggy daycare (Dog Days, St. Paul).
Harvey is a sweet, gentle, fun-loving dog. He likes playing with his brother, Oscar, a 4-year-old cat. His favorite activity is having fun with his "human" kid cousins who are 5, 8, and 11 years old. He enjoys regular compliments on his beautiful brindle coat. He likes regular walks with Mom along the river and weekends up at the lake. He can never get enough swimming in the summer or running in the snow in the winter. Harvey was potty trained upon adoption and has never had an accident in the condo. He will proudly "sit," "shake," and "lie down" for a treat. He enjoys marrow bones, bully sticks and any toy that squeaks as he will make it his mission to find and destroy the squeaker.
Harvey currently lives in a busy downtown area with lots of people, commotion and dogs - both outdoors and living in the same building. Harvey is working on building his confidence, but the neighborhood has proven too busy for him to feel comfortable on a daily basis. Harvey would do best in a house (vs apartment or condo) in a neighborhood outside of downtown. He is working on being welcoming to ALL new people that enter the home, but can be shy with a select few. He has made great strides in this area. Harvey is an incredibly sweet and devoted dog. He is looking for his forever family...one that will surround him with love, activity and plenty of toys with squeakers.
