Super sweet and somewhat shy Princess Merida is an 8 month old GSD mix looking for a wonderful family to introduce her to all the new experiences of life as a loved canine companion. She really enjoys being with her people and follows them from room to room. With proper introductions she also enjoys the company of dogs her size.

Merida is extremely smart and has learned so much since becoming a GSRA dog. She is now house trained, crate trained and walks on a leash. She is very food motivated and it really helps with her training. After a yummy meal, she will take a stuffed toy or chew to her dog bed and roll around or lay down at your feet and nap.

The first 8 months of Merida’s life were spent in a fenced area with over a dozen adult dogs and very little human contact so she has a lot to learn about all the exciting things the human world has to offer. She is extremely sensitive to new noises and would do best with a person that has had experience with under socialized dogs or shy dogs. A confident male dog that could “show her the ropes” would be a terrific canine companion for her.

Over time, Merida has become an absolute cuddle pup with her foster mom and dad. She is a typical puppy and quite the entertaining goofball as she rolls around on the floor with her toys. She LOVES to chew so she needs supervision when out of her crate until she learns the difference between chew toys and shoes.

Merida is looking for a very special person with the patience and time to help her discover the confident, BRAVE girl within her. She will reward you with love and loyalty.

It is GSRA policy that we do not adopt dogs under the age of 1 year old to families with children under the ages of 8 years old.
