Adopt a Jack Russell Terrier / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (short coat)

Maxwell is a bright-eyed and alert boy whose breed mix is anyone’s guess. He only weighs about 28 pounds and looks a bit like a large Jack Russell Terrier. Interestingly, he has double dew claws on his back feet which is characteristic of Great Pyrenees so maybe there’s a little of that in his family tree. Max came into a rural county dog shelter as a stray so we have no history on his previous life. Although he’s estimated to be about 4 years-old, he looks and acts much younger than that. Max is very playful with other dogs so would enjoy having a canine pal in his new home. He’s a quick study who would love an active home where he could enjoy lots of adventures with his new family. Max has excellent crate manners so may be housetrained although we can’t guarantee it. Max was adopted for a couple of months but was recently returned because he proved to be too energetic for his family. Max doesn't do well in a home as an only dog as he thrives on canine companionship. He also needs a home with an aboveground fence. His adoption fee is $250. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations including bivalent canine influenza, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped.
