Adopt a Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Reeses the Dog needs a home

I've Had A Rough Life, No More, Please.
Reese was born about July 1, 2012 and weighs about 20 lbs.  He is a cute little bugger and outwardly friendly to women and older kids.  He absolutely has some fear toward males and we'll be working on that, but the training/fear adjustment, will likely need to be continued in his next home.  If there is a male in the home or visiting males they must be understanding and willing to win him over and then he is fine.  We are told he is afraid of handles such as brooms or mops......  He is great with other dogs and tends to play a bit rough so will need an appropriate playmate.  We are told he doesn't like to be out in the cold for long and one of his ears is missing about 1/2 inch from the tip due to frostbite.....  He is house trained, good in the car and fine on leash.  He doesn't like to be tied outside for long when you are not home... He enjoys being with his humans and is a wonderful lap warmer.  From what I'm reading it seems that he can be a bit protective of new humans in his home so upon arrival it is probably going to be best if he is crated or in another room, I'm wondering if his barking in this scenario is due to the stress of new humans coming in his home.  We are told he likes to bark and talk and has a very fun vocabulary and can say "treat", "potty", "veggie", "hello" and can sing happy birthday and happy mother's days, but we are not guaranteeing these talents.....  All in all we sure are glad that phone call came and we got him in as soon as possible.  We hope you will feel the same and he gets a wonderful home where he can relax and feel safe.  We'd also like to mention that even though we were told he was house trained that often these little dogs can't hold it long and benefit from having potty floor pads handy.
