Meet Skipper! Are you a dachshund aficionado?  Skipper may be a fit for your pack.  At a svelte 14 pounds, Skipper is an approximately 8 year old  spayed female smooth red doxie looking for her new forever home.  Skipper has an unknown history because she was dropped off at a shelter in the dead of night with no letter or note.  Despite being abandoned, she is full of love and loves everyone  - seriously everyone.  She just wants someone to snuggle up with and pet her ALL THE TIME.  Because of that, she is not suitable to being an only dog unless you work from home or can take her with you to work.  She currently lives with two other dachshunds and gets along fine although she seeks human companionship if available.  She cries a little bit when her foster family leaves in the morning and is waiting at the door when the first of them comes home.  She walks great on a leash and rides well in a car.  She is socially appropriate with other dogs.  She was recently spayed and just had a dental.  If you are a doxie lover you won’t go wrong adopting her. Skipper's adoption fee is $250 which helps the rescue cover medical expenses and supplies.

All of our dogs are in private volunteer foster homes, and as such these individuals are most qualified to answer any questions regarding the dog.

We do not have a central shelter or kennel locations - you must make a private one-on-one meet and greet appointment with each individual dog at the foster family's convenience.  To protect our foster families' privacy, we must have an APPROVED adoption application on file before we release their contact information.

All of our dogs are fixed (spayed/neutered) and up to date on shots. We have a 2 week foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog is a fit for your family. Adoption fees vary from dog-to-dog.

Please note that an approved application DOES NOT guarantee that the dog will be placed with you. The final decision rests with our fosters as they know the dogs the best, and please be aware that there may be other applicants interested in the same dog. We continue accepting applications on a dog until the dog is with the new adoptive family in their home.
