Cosmo the Dog needs a home
Looking for a dashingly handsome hound? Cosmo fits the bill! And good looks are just the tip of the iceberg! His personality is shining and he happens to be as sharp as a tack. Cosmo can be silly and is always super sweet. We first met this special boy when he was an intake at the local shelter, Cosmo came in on the thin side, but rapidly began to lose a large amount of weight. He was eating and even receiving medical care, but still could not keep weight on. The shelter knew just who to call as a last ditch effort at saving him. After a few days in foster care, a condition called EPI was suspected as the culprit, and treatment immediately began. Animals with EPI cannot digest and absorb their food due to the pancreas not producing enzymes. This is treated by putting an enzyme powder on all food he consumes. After one month on pancreatic enzymes, he has gained 32 lbs.,weighing in at 69 lbs now. We are so thankful that this amazing boy, who was truly at death's door, is now happy and strong.
