Louis came to FKR from a small town shelter. We really don't know anything that happened before that. But guessing from his behavior, he was never really given assurances growing up. In his foster home, Louis is super friendly. Just loves everyone. But he craves that in return very much. He wants to be near you all the time. He will follow you around the house. In fact, he doesn't know anything about personal boundaries. So if you like hugs, Louis is your man!
Louis is not a dog for laying around and relaxing all day. He likes to play and has the energy to do it for a while. If you have other dogs, Louis would play all day long if you let him. A secure fenced in yard is a must for Louis to keep him safe. In the house, he does very well with his potty training! He knows to go outside. As for kennel training, he does pretty good. He will whine and bark sometimes but that is usually because he needs to go outside and potty.
Louis a prime candidate for some obedience training classes. He is smart and wants to please you so badly. We highly recommend that whoever adopts him, get him started on the classes soon. We know he'll make you proud!
