Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
Pearlie the Cat needs a home
From Pearlie's foster mom:
Pearlie was adopted as a kitten by neighbors about 2 years ago (according to their landlord). There were a teenaged boy, a grade school girl and a miniature dog in the home. The landlord said they got the cat for the little girl. They were evicted and moved out, leaving Pearlie behind without food or water and without notifying anybody, right before a hurricane hit the area. Of course we took him in. We don't know his original name or further details about his life. He is a very clean, sweet, friendly, affectionate, well-behaved and appealing little guy who prefers to be indoors. He was shy and wary at first, but quickly accepted us as his new people. The landlord gave us Pearlie's cat tower and he sleeps on it, on our screened back porch, but would really like to stay indoors all day. We would happily keep him, but unfortunately, he has no experience living with other cats and our two 7-year-old cats are extremely hostile to him. Our two cats had a very delicate peace agreement before he came. Pearlie eats what is left in their dishes and hides under the furniture to ambush them, and this infuriates them. He wants to take over, not share with them. We feed them all soft cat food on the vet's recommendation, with kibbles as a snack. He likes this diet. With humans, he is lovable and obedient. A nice little pet.
