Looking for some puppy love? You have come to the right puppy! Lucky Little Bit is just the right combination of being full of love and orneriness! Lucky Little Bit's start at life was pretty horrible and he was found dying in a ditch. Luckily, he was saved with a few blood transfusions and amazing people worked hard to get him where he is today...a bright, happy, healthy, loving, ornery puppy with a zest for life! His hilarious antics keep his foster family laughing uncontrollably. Crate training is going well. He sleeps and spends the workday in a hard plastic shell crate. He is let out to potty at lunch time and has no potty messes. There have been times he can spend about 8-hours without a potty mess (if there was a mess in the past, it has always been only urine). When the foster family is home, Lucky Little Bit wants to be out with everyone. Due to some older injured dogs in the foster home, he is sometimes contained in a Puppy Play Pen fencing area in the living room. With toys and chew bones he sometimes does well in it, but when he gets his ornery streak in him and wants to be out with everyone he is very vocal about his displeasure of being kept in his pen. This very loud vocalization will most likely rule out any potential adopters who live in an apartment or multi-family dwelling. Potty training is going very well though, knowing he's a puppy, his foster family lets him outside a lot...after meals, drinking a lot, playing hard, etc. He will also whimper to go out as well. Lucky Little Bit lives with other dogs and is doing pretty well. He sometimes does not respect their boundaries and gets corrected by the other dog. Sometimes he understands those corrections and sometimes he doesn't, so his interactions need to be monitored closely and corrections by his foster humans have been necessary. Lucky Little Bit does not do well with cats and exhibits prey-like behaviors when seeing them. He is still in the teething phase of puppy-hood, including mouthing on humans. He may not be a good fit for a family with small children as he needs lots of redirection and positive discipline when he mouths. Honestly, Lucky Little Bit is a puppy and he acts just like a puppy should act...so, please do not come into this relationship with him with unrealistic expectations. He will need an adopter who can work hard with him and use positive training to make him into the great dog we know he will be. His foster family would suggest immediate puppy training classes to start him out right with an adopting family who is able to discipline themselves to work with him. With Lucky Little Bit also being a Pit-bull, any potential adopters need to make sure their community does not have any breed restrictions and know that adopting him is a life-long commitment to him, so any future living considerations will need to be accepting of his breed as well.
