Adopt a Collie / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (short coat)

My name is Anita.  I came into the nowzad shelter in 2014, I had been found in the road by an Afghan man after I had been hit by a car.  I was not a well socialised dog and I was very aggressive but the man who had found me was not willing to leave me on the ground when I was hurt so he scooped me up and took me to the nowzad clinic.

When I arrived at the nowzad clinic I was so scared of humans that I tried to bite everyone, I was also in a lot of pain.  The nowzad vets established that I had a pelvic injury and that all they could do was give me pain relief and rest and hope that time would heal me.

The love and care I was given soon helped me to overcome my fear of the nowzad staff, they cuddled me and talked to me and made sure I had lots of good food and before long they were able to help me to stand without me nipping at them.

I am now fully mobile but there was some permanent damage to my pelvic area and although I have full control over my bodily functions I walk a little bit to the side and I look like I am dancing on tip toe when I get excited.

I do take a while to trust new people and I do not like being picked up, I get excited when the people I love call my name and I love having my back scratched.  I need a family where there are no young children, I do like to play from time to time with other dogs but mostly I chill out and am not very active.  It will take me some time to develop trust with a new family but once trust is gained I am loyal and faithful.

All I want is a family that will take their time to get to know me and will give me time to adjust and learn how to be a family pet.

I am healthy and vaccinated and chipped/spayed and other than my funny walk I have no other known health issues
