Adopt a Coonhound (short coat)
Maya the Dog needs a home
Meet Maya! Maya is an older gal who we consider to be a people "person", as she really just loves to be near her people! Maya isn’t super playful with other dogs but she is happy to play and cuddle for short stints. Cuddling with the humans in her home is what she prefers. We recommend that Maya be in a cat-free home since she does not get along with kitties. Maya is also nervous of younger kids and would be happiest in a home with children over the age of 10. She loves to eat, and as a result is very overweight so her foster home has been working on her weight-loss plan. Continuing a well managed diet and daily exercise will have Maya looking and feeling her best! Maya has some food and skin allergies that she is currently being treated for. These allergies will require lifelong dietary restrictions and therapeutic medication but are easily managed now that she is stable. Maya may be a chubby, overweight senior with skin and food sensitivities, but none of those things make her any less beautiful or sweet! We love her and know you will too so apply to meet Maya today!
Thanks to a VERY generous "Senior Pet" grant from The Petfinder Foundation, BDAR is able to cover the cost of Maya's adoption fee, and special food and medication for an entire year!
