Meet Rocky Adventure!
This cute little pup is one of three of the Adventure litter! Rocky is an adorable five month old puppy, with brindle fur and brown eyes, weighing in currently at about 25 pounds. He appears to be a terrier/mountain cur mix. Rocky is
friendly
with everyone he meets, including adults, children, and other dogs. He has not met any cats yet. He is an outgoing pup and loves to give puppy kisses! He can even sometimes be a lap dog. He will still need
house training
, but he has crate
training
down, and is currently working on leash training! Rocky would also love to go to obedience class with his new family so he can learn his basic commands! We
strongly
recommend that all of our dogs go to obedience classes, because you get to learn
commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and helps to strengthen the ever important bond between the dog and their family! It's lots of fun, too! A well-mannered, obedient dog will be welcomed almost anywhere! Rocky has a moderate energy level, he loves to play with toys, and with his littermates and be goofy - he is a typical puppy! Training will also help him focus his energy, he is very intelligent and eager to please! Rocky will not require a home with a fenced-in yard, and if it is not an option he will need lots of opportunities for off leash play, like at a dog park, which would be the next best thing. He will also need daily walks - this will also help him focus his puppy energy into something good! A tired dog is a good dog!
Rocky is ready for his forever home, could it be with you? If you think Rocky is the pup for you, fill out an application today!
Backstory: The Adventure litter was an "oops" litter, and surrendered to one of our southern partners and are now looking for their forever homes!
Medical Note: A littermate of this dog tested positive and was treated for Demodectic Mange while in the SOS program. This dog has also been preventatively treated and has shown no signs of Demodectic Mange. Please note that Demodex can have a hereditary component and/or flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc.). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange

Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence.
