Sophie the Dog needs a home
Sophie was owner-surrendered to a shelter, most likely due to her age. She's a bit overweight but is already more active than we expected at her foster home so she should shed a little of her chunkiness over time. She needed and received a dental and all is healthy now in her mouth. Sophie can't hear well but she can see and is bright and alert. She is very good about house training and although she's not much on cuddling, she likes to be in a room near her people. Sophie doesn't mind other dogs, although she's perfectly happy if they go their own way. She has some stiffness due to age and weight, so she takes non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication daily to help her with pain management. Other than that, she's heartworm negative and on preventative, current on all vaccinations, and very sweet. Sophie's foster family is fine if she is there for the duration, but don't be afraid to consider adoption of a 17 year old- Dachsnund Lovers of Texas Rescue got Buster into the program when he was 17, and he turned 21 this last July and is still doing well! We hope Sophie is as fortunate!
