Adopt a Jack Russell Terrier / Beagle / Mixed

LOOKING FOR A LOVING, RESTFUL HOME:  15+ years old / 14 lbs.  Some of us are in foster homes so please call 770-272-6888 1st to find out if I’m available to meet during the week.  I’m Fitzgerald and I’m in need of a new home due to the death of my owner.  I’m looking for a special family that loves the older guys and who wants to give me the best in my retirement years, however long that may be.  I sure do deserve all the love and care I can get—I don’t need much else to be happy.  I’m adapting to my new environment and am more alert and aware with each passing week. I’m becoming surer of myself and am interacting more—I am so sweet. I have some vision loss and take things slowly and cautiously and I like being petted from below my sight line please.  I get along with other dogs nicely but do not play or anything like that.  I’ve met some really nice dogs recently that seem to know I need a little help, and they sort of watch over me and nap closely.  I think that’s sweet.  I need to go outside frequently and potty pads are helpful too, guess since I’m older my potty manners aren’t the best but I do alright and may improve once I settle into a new home and routine.  I’m not a dog to be carried, but when I settle into a nice spot on the sofa, I’ll will sleep next to you or lean on your leg or arm, letting you scratch my neck and ears.  Ahh, that feels good!  Please keep an eye on me and don’t let me jump off as I could hurt myself.  I like little treats and my glucosamine in a pill pocket daily.  I’ve just had my teeth cleaned and quite a lot had to be removed, but my remaining teeth are healthy.  Older calm kids are best for me since I’m looking for a nice, quiet retirement home.  Energy level: 2-4.  I’m current on vaccinations, neutered and micro-chipped.
