2-6-18 Max has a pending adoption. Max has lost weight, and now pulls us along at a brisk pace. 

10-8-17 Senior Max comes into rescue, as an owner surrender where the owner was no longer medically able to take care of him. The family tried to take care of him, but was given up because a child made him growl when the child was jumping on him. Max is obese at 90 pounds with fat rolls on his backside (this is a first for me). He is unable to go for a leash walk because he has a hard time moving. 

Please Note: First, we ask that you fill out the adoption application if you are interested in one of our dogs. We can only answer questions about the adoption process, before the application.

Then during the phone interview (step two of the application process) we can answer more questions based on what your application has on it. If you email questions without doing an application, we will not be able to give you a good answer. There are too many variables which we look at when matching up dogs. Thank you for helping us to help you, and ultimately help the dogs looking for the right home.

10-8-17 Senior Max comes into rescue due to the owner going into assisted living, and the family saying that the dog was growling at their 4 year old. Max came into rescue VERY overweight, it was said that he weighed 90 pounds, but had lost about 10 pounds. Max just plain did not feel good, in my opinion, and now about 3 weeks later, has perked up with daily walks, magna-wave twice a week, and food that he likes. He has a "worry-spot" that he is wearing the cone for. Max is looking for a person, hopefully, a retiree who can be with him during the day and take him for his walks. 

Our adoption fee ($125 for Seniors) covers the age appropriate spay / neutering, heart worm testing, rabies, distemper combo, and any other necessary medical that a dog may need. Please consider a rescue that comes to you with all of the routine medical (and then some) already done.

PLEASE NOTE: AuCaDo Rescue is not a public shelter. This dog is being fostered in a private home / kennel until adoption. Prospective adopters who have submitted an accepted application and completed a telephone interview are welcome to schedule an appointment to travel to meet the dog. If approved for adoption, a deposit will hold the dog until a meeting or transport is arranged. AuCaDo Rescue does welcome out of state adoptions. We require an approved application, phone interview, photos and willingness to travel to meet the dog. AuCaDo Rescue is located in Remus, Michigan.
