Meet Buddy! Buddy is a very handsome DSH Orange Tabby who was rescued by Kathy and taken to her vet. Unfortunately she cannot keep him. Buddy has been neutered and has received all his shots but his blood test showed that he is FIV positive. He had been bitten on the neck and the vet is treating that. The bite, of last year, is possibly where he got the FIV. It is healing very well. He’s a sweetheart, yellow domestic breed, litter box trained, loves a petting, about a year old, and she would like him to have a good home.
FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus. FIV typically causes a weakening of the cat’s immune system. It is the same class of virus as HIV (a lentivirus); however, only cats can get FIV. People and dogs cannot.
FIV
is not easily passed between
cats
as it cannot be spread casually through litter boxes, food and water bowls, or snuggling and playing.
