Gus (Courtesy) the Cat needs a home

A few months ago, this stray tuxedo cat kept coming by our house. Then about 2 weeks ago, we noticed he was limping and had a wound on his front left paw. We took him to a veterinarian, who cleaned his wound, gave him an antibiotic shot, neutered him, tested him for feline leukemia (which was negative), gave him another shot and gave him a rabies vaccination. He did not have a chip identifier. My daughter named him Gus. We brought him home to heal, and he had been inside for about a week. Gus used the litter box with no problems while he was inside, although it is clear from his behavior he is definitely much happier being outside. He is very friendly to people, will come right up to you and rub on your leg. He likes to be petted, but he is not yet comfortable being picked up and held. Gus seems to get along fine with other cats, but he will need some adjusting and training on how to get along with dogs. We are told Gus is about 2 years old and in excellent health. He is about 10 lbs, has a rather small frame, with a very shiny, thick black and white coat. We are hoping someone will adopt this sweet, independent, easy-going and easy-to-care-for cat.
