Meet Adorable and Gentle Rosie

Hello, I am Rosie and Lily’s rescuer and foster mom. Thank you for reading Rosie’s story.
Rosie was born on March, 3rd, 2015 with her 7 other siblings. Ever since they were born, they were restricted in a small cage, day in and day out. After they grew bigger, most of her siblings were either adopted or transferred to other places except Lily and Rosie, were both tied on a short leash at the same spot, without any space to walk, eat and did potty. Everyday when I drove by, I saw Lily and Rosie always tied at the same place, living in a miserable life to make me feeling so sorrow. They had no freedom, no smile and no proper meals. What broke my heart was they were almost a year old but locked in a 5 months skinny puppy body.

One day, I just couldn’t hold my sorrow and anger anymore. I got of my car, walked directly to the owner asking him to surrender both puppies to me. Without any hesitation, the owner off-leash both pups and walked away. Right away, I took these pups to an animal hospital for thorough physical checkups. According to the Vet, other than they were spayed, neither any necessary medical care nor vaccine was given. And Rosie was detected to have slightly Patella Luxation syndrome. Though Vet didn’t think it was a big issue, I still insisted to give her the best treatment. Under weight control and limited her long walking and jumping activities, the syndrome gets less and less. Therefore, I am very careful of her daily activities in preventing her to steal food from Lily’s bowl. Good news is Rosie is not a very high energetic doggie anyway. She likes to stay in a quiet environment, living in simple life.

Due to Rosie didn’t have any chance to interact with human and other dogs in the past, she was a little timid but chilled. When we walk out, she normally will stay very close to me. If there are dogs or strangers come near her, she will observe first and choose to make friends or simply ignore them and keep walking. But if strangers initiatively come to pet her nicely, she will accept. If she gets to meet the strangers often, she will take them as friends and being cuddly. Rosie is sensitive of roller skating rumble rolling sound or facing some children speedy running toward her. That does scare her to dodge and hide. However, she gets quite much improvement day after day. Rosie likes to watch other dogs play than to join the gang. She enjoys companionship with dogs she knows well such as Lily. But if a friendly dog comes directly toward her, she will sniff him/ her a little to start a polite friendship. If she meets the dog often, she will intimately walks toward the dog for greeting. Like Lily, Rosie stays calm and quietly at home. You never need to worry if she will go far away when you are out in a park because she will always stays close to you like a sidekick. Both Rosie and Lily are doing quite okay to be left alone. They will not get into any separation anxiety barking if they both must be left alone at home. A gentle little fur baby like Rosie is now ready to find a home to call her own. If you are a low key family that prefers to have a calm and affectionate doggie to cuddle at home. Does the dog walk well on leash? Yes, may be resistant when she is afraid, by giving her some encouragement, she will start to walk well again.
Does the dog have food aggression to other dogs? No.
Does the dog have food aggression to people? No.
Can people touch the food in the bowl while the dog is eating? Yes
Is the dog afraid of man? Needs time to warm up.
Has the dog ever bitten anyone? No
Does the dog have up to date vaccines and rabies shot? Yes

Is there any part of the body the dog doesn’t like to be touched? No.
How is the dog with new environment? Need a little more time and patience to help her settling in.
Does the dog know any command? Sit before food.
Is there anything the dog doesn’t like or afraid of? Bully gestures, laud unpleasant sound.
Are there any red flags we should know? Has slightly Patella Luxation syndrome, weight control and less speedy walking are highly recommended.
