Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Pointer / Mixed (short coat)

Petey has a goofy, lab personality. He loves to lie on soft sofas and laps, but not as much as he loves belly rubs! He is smart and learns quickly, but hasn’t had much training. So, he’s looking for someone who is patient and willing to teach him the basics.

He is currently stuck in boarding at a vet’s office, so he would love to be considered for either foster or adoption! Prior to arriving there, Petey lived alone, outside in the backyard. He was not allowed to be around other dogs, so he’s still learning exactly how to interact with them.

Petey has been attending group training classes and has gone from being reactive on the leash when other dogs pass to non-reactive. His foster/adopters are welcome to continue this good progress in class at no cost.

Since dog parks might not be his thing, we’d like to find Petey a home with a fenced yard for running, roughhousing and playing fetch. He’d also enjoy any and all activities, to include walking, jogging and hiking. He also would make a good travel companion, as he loves car rides.

Petey has a BIG personality and is seeking active owner who loves a big, silly, super-friendly pooch.

Training: Crate-trained, working on leash-training; eager/fast learner

Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm positive and on treatment
