APRIL is such a sweet girl! She loves hanging out with her foster mom, or her roommate, to keep her company. 

Despite being so sweet, April has not had very good luck in finding a forever home. Her adopter developed health issues and returned April to our care. Sadly, April was very overweight, and while she is otherwise healthy, she could develop health issues down the road unless we help her slim down to a healthy weight. After being in our care for several months, April has made amazing progress. She has lost over 6 pounds and while she has a bit more to go, April is much slimmer and happier (see third photo showing her healthier figure!)

Even though April is still a bit overweight, she is actually playful - in her own way! She loves playing with 'the bird' toy - always watching it with interest, often swatting at it, and sometimes jumping around after it. April loves to be brushed and is quite affectionate, with a noisy purr. She gets a dose of daily exercise going up and down the stairs, and jumps on the bed to greet her foster mom. April is on a strict over-the-counter wet food only diet that's high in protein and low in carbohydrates. 

April needs a quiet home where she can settle in and feel comfortable. A home with an older person or couple would be ideal. Or a quiet famiy with one older child would be fine too. Ideally, her forever home will have stairs to give her a chance to exercise and continue to lose weight. 

We don't know how April would do with another cat. She may do ok with a sweet, independent kitty who would like another cat to co-exist with. Her current foster home has an older, low-key dog and she is fine with the dog.

April was initially rescued by SPCA and adopted out as a kitten with her sister.
