Meet Rocky. He’s a deaf 10-pound, 12-year-old dog who will need to be on thyroid medication for the rest of his life but doesn’t have any major medical issues or require any special care, just someone to love him and take him out for walks. Rocky is great with kids, cats, and other dogs, and would be happiest in a home with a a stay-at-home pet parent.

Adoption fees range between $50 and $150, depending on the age and size of the dog. Spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, flea treatment, dewormer, and microchip are all included.

Prospective adopters must agree to a home visit, have secure fencing and allow their dog to sleep inside at night. Those coming from out of town may submit a vet reference in place of a home visit. All renters need landlord approval.

If you already have a dog or two, they must be spayed/neutered and brought to the shelter for a meet and greet. Homes that already have more than two dogs, or any unaltered dogs, will not be considered.

Exceptions to these rules may be made in special circumstances.
