Gabriel the Dog needs a home
Gabriel is a stunningly handsome male with one blue eye and one brown eye. He came from an extreme hoarding case in Arizona where the adult dogs had been left in the field and not socialized with people. Gabriel was the alpha male of the group. All of these dogs were fearful of people in the beginning, and Gabriel had to be tranquilized just to be brought in to the shelter. He's still not comfortable on a leash, but at least he DOES walk now rather than fight it. He wags his tail and does the puppy play-bow, so we know he WANTS to trust us. It's just that he hasn't had much socialization in the past. Gabriel may be slow to trust new people, but he eventually does - it just takes patience. We will be working with these dogs as long as it takes to teach them that humans can be trusted, and that they can continue to live and work in the field but at the same time, they will be fed and loved and given proper veterinary care and will be members of our family.
Gabriel so far has proven safe with our livestock and is a fierce guardian. He can be aggressive with people that he does not know, so his adopter will need to be a strong leader and committed to taking the time necessary for Gabriel to grow into a more socialized dog.
