Adopt a Guinea Pig
Guinea Pigs No More the Guinea Pig needs a home
.
Due to severe allergies we are currently seeking local foster homes for guinea pigs. If none can be found we will have to stop taking in guinea pigs for adoption as the allergies have recently become so severe that we can not risk having them in our shelter, or our main foster home any more. Until we have some new foster homes for guinea pigs we are currently not taking in any more guinea pigs. Foster parents must be willing to pick up guinea pigs & their donated supplies when we take them in. We will provide surrender forms for the owners to fill out, which will need to be turned into our Director for our records. Fosters must also be willing to transport guinea pigs to Petco when we have an adoption event. Fosters must be willing to only use approved small animal bedding, as wood chips can cause serious respiratory illness which requires an expensive vet visit. When these items are donated, we will provide food and bedding to help you care for our guinea pigs that you are fostering. If you are seriously interested in fostering, please fill out our prescreening application and our volunteer form and submit them via snail mail, or via email. Our website: http://www.acadianahumane.org
FOOD: Guinea Pig Pellets, Timothy Hay, and fresh vegetables. Fresh fruit makes a great occasional treat.
We require an indoor home for guinea pigs.
Our guinea pig adoption fee is $20.00 each. But we do not currently have any, and we won't take in any more guinea pigs without new local foster homes.
