Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)

Meet Mila, a beautiful cat and a spunky personality! Cute from the moment she was adopted as a newborn stray kitten, Mila has very interesting gray/white markings and striking green eyes. She is an independent cat, but also loves being in the same room as everyone. Mila is not a lap cat, but will always greets you at the door with affectionate head-butts and hand licks. Her favorite resting spots include bags and cardboard boxes, but she also loves to sleep at the foot of the bed. As seen in her photos, Mila manages to put herself in the cutest sleeping positions! She sleeps through the night, but loves to wake her owner up in the morning for breakfast!

Mila enjoys playing with toys, especially anything that dangles and the mysterious red dot. She goes crazy for catnip and will rub herself against any surface that has been sprayed with it (including her owner!). Mila likes being pet on her head, ears, and just above her tail. She will also give you a gentle nibble or swish her tail if she wants to be left alone. Mila is very quiet, but will meow when 1) you are preparing her food (accommodated by head-butts), 2) you are just outside the door after a long day away from home, and 3) you pick her up and she wants to be put down.

Mila is not declawed, but clipping her front claws is encouraged! She is not fond of the activity (who would be!), but can be coerced with a tight swaddle and tasty treats. Mila tends to eat dry food faster than her stomach can handle, so she eats a diet of exclusively wet food. However, Mila also has an exceptional nose for people food. It would make her day to sneak onto the table/counter and steal a freshly cooked chicken breast from her human, so watch your food with a careful eye! Mila prides herself on her litter box behavior as she has never had an accident.

Mila has never encountered other pets or children, but she would do best in a home with savvy cat owners that understand her independent nature.  Mila would love the opportunity to meet you, so please inquire about her!
