Adopt a Great Pyrenees / Cattle Dog / Mixed (medium coat)
Lexie the Dog needs a home
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.
This beautiful 4 year-old Great Pyrenees/Cattledog mix female was adopted from us a couple of years ago but recently returned because she loved her family too much. She wasn’t comfortable with visitors coming into her home and became overly protective of her home and family. Lexie will need an adult only home with a patient owner who understands that she doesn’t want to be a party girl and would much rather enjoy a chewie in her crate when guests come over. Lexie gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home but can be dominant around them when it comes to dinnertime. She would be fine in her new home as an only dog as she seems to enjoy human companionship more. Lexie walks well on a leash and will need more exercise and fewer snacks in her new home. She came back to us about 10 pounds overweight and, at 66 pounds, needs to get down to about 55 pounds to get back to her best. Lexie should pick up the housetraining routine quickly in her new home. She is crate-trained too. Her adoption fee is $200. She’s spayed, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Lexie. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. All of our dogs come to us from county dog pounds so we have no history on them. We also have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Lexie and to submit an online application.
