Zoey the Cat needs a home

Sweet, soulful Zoey thought she had her forever home. Unfortunately, after 8 years, her family returned her saying they were moving in with family members who are allergic to cats. So Zoey is now looking for a new, loving family. This poor girl is perplexed by this turn of events. She is a quiet type of kitty - no trouble at all. She loves petting and will even reach out to you if you stop. She is a dignified girl, no running around the house getting underfoot. All the kitten craziness is behind her.
Her sweet green/gold soulful eyes tell her story. This sad turn of events had left her a little shy but after a few months in a wonderful temporary foster home her sweet personality is showing. She has relaxed and is ready to accept love again.
We believe Zoey might have hearing issues which would explain her wariness in new situations. While it will take her a few months to feel comfortable in a new home, she will be a sweet low maintenance type of kitty with a long life ahead of her.
Zoey is not needy and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a calm, easy going friend who asks for very little. All she needs is love.
She has lived with other cats and young children.
She would do best as an only kitty or with another mellow cat.
