Adopt a Dachshund (short coat)
Ellie the Dog needs a home
Ellie is being fostered in Lorain County OH. Here's an update from her foster family
She has come a long way since I started fostering her. She has shown her sweet, funny personality! She loves the other doggies and would do well in a home with other furbabies! She likes kids too! Doing very well on her potty training and absolutely loves mealtime!! She would love to find a forever home!
Ellie is doing really well! She fit in with my pups as soon as she got here. Her tail wags whenever she is with them! Every day she is getting more and more accustomed to Rob and I? So scared at first. She comes closer and closer to us each day. She sleeps in the big doggy bed or close to me on the floor. She loves to eat and stays by me when I am preparing their food, or getting treats! She is getting used to us petting her and is starting to like getting cuddles from us. We have yet to hear her bark. I do put a diaper on her during times we are gone and at night time. We carry her in and out as we have a big step to go out. Overall, she is doing quite well. She has met our daughter and likes her a lot! She is a silly, fun little girl.
Ellie has been spayed and had a mass removed on her belly. It was not cancerous. She is still pretty shy of people and will run when approached. This poor little girl needs someone that has time, patience and extra love for her to overcome the horrors she must have encountered in a puppy mill. Her foster mom knows that she will make someone a great companion once she learns to trust.
Ellie went into the vet clinic for a spay, dental and tumor removal. They did her dental first and it was very extensive. Ellie lost all of her teeth as well as some blood so the vet decided it was best to wait to do her spay and tumor removal until another time. Her bill came to $464.22. Once Ellie is healed she will go in for her spay and tumor removal which will be added onto her bill. Please sponsor Ellie so that we can get her vet bill paid off. Her adoption fee is $275 which will not even cover half of her vetting. https://paypal.me/wolfspiritsrescue
She's had a very extensive dental and all of her teeth were removed so she will need to continue on a soft diet. Right now she is eating a raw diet from Blue Ridge Beef but we also feed Organix canned. She is still pretty shy and frightens easily. She will run from us when we try to pick her up. I know one day she will overcome her fears. Ellie needs a home with someone that is willing to accept the fact that she may not be totally trusting. Years in a mill being neglected and ignored do take a toll on some dogs.
Ellie is still very timid with people and will need a home with someone with patience who understands puppy mill dogs. She needs a quiet home with no small children since she frightens so easily. Ellie would like another companion to play with though

Look at the markings on this shy girl. She's a breeder release 6 yr old Doxie. She's pretty timid and not trusting of people. She will need a dental cleaning probably with extractions so she could use a few sponsors to help with her bills. She also has a lump on her belly that will need to be removed when she is spayed. Her foster mom thinks she is awesome. She was an angel getting those long claws trimmed. Ellie could use your help with her vet bills.
