Woof!! Hero here, and I am a very handsome young man.  I am a shepherd mix weighing in at about 40 pounds and around a year old.  I am a very sweet boy and can't wait to find a family to call my own.  I promise to give them lots of kisses! 

Being young I will need a good amount of exercise.  I would love trips to the dog park or going on long walks and hikes. I might even try swimming if you take me!  I will look forward to cuddling with my new family as well!  I want to go to puppy school, since I hear I get a lot of treats there and I will need mental stimulation! 

Like most shelter dogs, Hero may need a refresher on house training. He is likely crate trained. 

FOSTER UPDATE:

Hero is super sweet! I would say he is a typical one-year-old with bursts of energy (medium-high energy level). If he goes on a good long walk, he will relax and take a nap. He is a bit leash reactive when he sees another dog because he loves playing with them. He will pull and whine when he sees another dog.

He is doing great with going potty outside. He sleeps in the crate all night and will cry for a few minutes but then quickly settles. 

He is very affectionate and loves people and older kids! I'm not sure how he would do with younger kids because he does jump when he gets excited and he is a strong boy.
