Adopt a Treeing Walker Coonhound (short coat)
Fannie the Dog needs a home
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home. Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion.
A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.
Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today. We'll update as more information is known.

Fence needed? I would love a fenced in area to explore in.. Or just a lot of walks.
What kind of home would be best for me? I am looking for my retirement home somewhere maybe on a farm where I can bask in the sunshine and go on lots of nature walks.
What is my personality like? I'm a older lady but not too old! I still love to wander through the woods and play a little with dogs of my size. When I am outside there is nothing stopping this nose from working. I could sniff and roam all day long and come home to soak my paws and take it easy. That would be the perfect life for me. I don't ask for much! I get carried away while on a leash so a harness would be best to walk me with since I like to pull. Treats? Ooooh I love them. This lady at Carolina Poodle Rescue thinks that I know basic commands but it has just been awhile since this gal has had to do them. My story is short and sweet.. I was found as a stray in South Carolina and taken to a local shelter.. but now I am at the farm! I don't get to roam as much as I'd like to though.. and I would also love to be reminded on how to be a pet again.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly.. but it is hard to get my attention with my nose to the ground.
Other Tips and Tidbits:
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
