Hi. I'm Louisa - a sweet and adorable 6 (almost 7) year old, 8 pound Poodle.





 





My foster mom says I'm a lovely lady!  I love my furry foster siblings and they love me, but who wouldn't?  I'm so cute! 

I am adjusting well to home life. One of my favorite things

is being held and getting lots of pets and snuggles. 

Another favorite is walking. I could walk everywhere! I quickly picked up leash walking -

I'm a natural!  It's so fun getting to go for a walk and explore new things. 

 




 





I am just starting to learning about toys. I do like soft treats, but I won’t take anything from a human's hand; however, I will join my furry sibs when treats are handed out and thoroughly enjoy the party! Overwhelming commotion makes me a little nervous and I will bark when alarmed.  I do just great with all dogs, but I won’t need another dog in my furever home.




 





I am house and crate trained. I sleep in my crate and am crated during the day.  I will sometimes fuss in my kennel when it’s bed time as I don’t want the day to end, but I quiet down after only a few minutes. I am working on: ‘sit’, ‘kennel’, ‘leave It, ‘off’, ‘come’, ‘this way’, ‘time to eat’ and ‘bed’. That’s a lot of words!! Are you impressed? I am.  





As you can see I’m fast on my way learning all that there is to know about the good life. I’m ready for my furever home. Are you the right one for me?



 



 


 



Many of our dogs are rescued from commercial breeders where they spent their lives getting comfort from their canine friends.  In turn, most require another companion dog in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog, and do not currently have a dog residing with you, please understand that your home might not be the right fit for many of our dogs.

ADOPTION EVENTS:  




Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.

Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.

FOSTER CARE:





All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. NUTRITION:





Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
