Tipper the Cat needs a home
Hey! Check out the cool black spots on my back! I think they are very cool, don’t you? Pretty unique - just like me! I love those three BIG SPOTS together in a line across my hips - and they wiggle when I walk, too!
My name is Tipper and I was rescued as just a tiny kitten in November of 2016. My first foster mom saved me and my sister, and another kitten, from her sister’s rural property because she was afraid we would die over the winter since there were no buildings to take shelter in and we were p.r.e.t.t.y. TINY! In the end, my sister just didn’t grow much and got pretty sick, and when old enough to be tested for FeLK/FIV, she tested positive for FeLK. I was so lonely when she didn’t come home from the vet office. They were worried about me, but at first I tested negative for FeLK. But then I wasn't growing much either, no matter how much they fed me, so they tested me a couple more times, and in the end, I tested positive for Feline Leukemia, too.
My only symptom was just a slight cough, and I’ve always had a kinda funny looking right eye. My foster mom knew another rescuer who had a FeLK+ kitty herself, so I was lucky enough to be able to go live with them so I wasn’t so lonely being by myself since I couldn’t interact or play with the other kitties at her house. Yu-Gi-Oh and I got along just great, but it wasn’t too long and I was all alone again when he got real sick and he went over the Rainbow Bridge.
I am such a sweet girl! I’ve finally ‘grown up’ and look my age - I think I’m about 13 months old or so now in mid-October 2017. I have a beautiful white fur coat with those black spots I mentioned earlier - and a gorgeous long black tail and some back on my head, too! But otherwise I am sparkling white! I am extremely playful and LOVE to play with toys and dash back and forth chasing a rolling toy through this crackling tunnel thing my new foster has for me! She tosses toys into the tunnel and I slide through to get them and bring them back! Another favorite is batting at a ball in a big circle toy thingy on the floor - I love to watch it go round and round! I love furry toys and anything that rattles - and pipe cleaners made into springy toys, too! I do love to rub legs and lay on laps, too! And talk… if you will listen, and talk to me, we can have conversations together!! OH BOY!
I’ve been well taken care of and was given INTERFERON which is a medication that helps build my immune system - and I’ve been really healthy! I get fed really good food, too, which has helped me grow up to be very beautiful! All I need now is a family who will give me a loving home, even though I have this disease called ‘Feline Leukemia.’ I can be with other FeLK+ kitties, but can’t be with cats who are negative. But I promise I will be a sweet girl and give you lots of love and attention for however long I might have… like Yu-Gi-Oh did with his mama who adopted him! Some might call me a ‘SPECIAL NEEDS’ kitty - but really… the only special needs I think I have, is that I really need a special family of my very own to love and cherish - and hope they’ll love and cherish me right back!
I’ve had 4 FRCP vaccinations, my rabies vaccination, been treated for parasites, and tested several times. I will be spayed on Nov. 3rd and will be available to be adopted on Nov. 8, 2017. I sure hope to HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS with a new family! That would be the greatest thing to ever happen to me! Hope to meet you soon so we can fall in love with each other!
Tipper lives in a foster home and is available to be seen by appointment. She may make appearances at our weekly open house events but please watch our Facebook page to see who is attending the events. You may also let us know if you want to meet her specifically and we'll set up a time!
