Glitter the Cat needs a home
Glitter is a wonderful and social 2 year old kitty, who needs some special tender loving care. Glitter came to us from a rescue in Freemont County Colorado. She had been found wandering around a creek bed. She was emaciated, dehydrated, constipated, and showed signs of physical abuse. Her abdomen was so full of fecal matter that her internal organs were crushed, and the doctors had to go in and surgically clean out her colon. One of the side effects was that her nerves in her abdomen were damaged, and she couldn’t defecate or urinate on her one. With medication she has recovered enough that she can defecate now, but she still needs to have her bladder manually expressed two to three times a day. There is hope that she will continue to improve, and that the nerve damage can reverse itself in time. Glitter also had to have part of her tail amputated. It appears that her tail was wrapped in two places, possibly by rubber bands, causing circulation to be cut off, leaving the end of her tail dead. We surgically removed the non-functional section of tail, and now Glitter has a cute little bobtail. Glitter will always need to stay on medication to prevent constipation, as well as a prescription diet, and may never regain full nerve function. She will need a human who is comfortable monitoring her stools, and who can manually express her bladder. But she is sweet, social, and outgoing. Glitter loves everyone, and wants to make friends with the world! Come in and meet Glitter today, she’s an amazing girl!
