A Little Bit About Me

Imac is a handsome black beauty. He came to us as a stray from San Francisco Animal Care & Control so his past is a bit of a mystery.

What we do know is that he is currently feeling overwhelmed and somewhat frightened by the shelter environment. In order for Imac to regain his self-confidence and trust, extra time and patience will be needed while he's getting acquainted with you. Before you know it, he will no longer be a scaredy cat.

Because Imac can be defensive when he feels threatened, he will do best in a child-free home with cat-savvy adults.

A quiet room outfitted with all of his necessities, including a high-sided bed, basket or box, will be the best way to help him adapt to his new home. Visit him often, spending plenty of time with him, offering him pets and soft words of comfort and reassurance. Let him explore this space and engage with him in some interactive play, such as a wand teaser toy. When he approaches you as you enter his safe space, he is likely ready to explore the rest of the house, one room at a time under your watchful eye. Be sure to leave the path open for him to return to his sanctuary and litter box.
