Adopt a Husky (medium coat)
Sitka the Dog needs a home
Sitka is a beautiful 3-4 year old Husky mix who was brought into rescue from N. Carolina with a gunshot wound. It was determined that the wound was at least a week old. After battling through infection at the site of the wound Sitka is doing great! He is such a brave boy with a strong will to survive. Sitka certainly didn’t deserve this, and we hope to find a loving forever home for him - could that be with you? Sitka needs a special kind of forever home. He loves to be outside and is wonderful with all types of animals...dogs, cats, chickens, horses, etc. Sitka however does not seek affection from humans and doesn’t really enjoy being pet or loved on. He has made amazing progress and has not shown any aggression at all towards anyone, he just prefers canine companions. He will follow you around but will avoid and dodge any attempt a human makes to touch him. We think Sitka is hearing impaired and because of this he can startle easily if surprised. He wants to spend his time outside and tends to pace and become destructive if kept inside too long. Sitka is a very happy boy and will make a wonderful addition for the right family. If you think Sitka would be a good fit for you and would like to make him the newest member of your family, please fill out an adoption application here: http://www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org/general-application
