Adopt a Dilute Tortoiseshell (short coat)
Maggie the Cat needs a home
This beautiful girl is named Maggie, and she has had a rough start in life. She was pulled from a crowded, high kill shelter in North Alabama. After joining Friends of Rescue, her foster mom noticed that she had trouble drinking from a regular water bowl and she couldn’t chew her food well either. Turns out that before she joined Friends of Rescue, she encountered a trauma that broke her jaw and damaged some teeth. Her damaged teeth were pulled, and her jaw had already “healed” itself. She drinks just fine now as long as she has a fountain water bowl with a small cascade of water. She still cannot use a regular water bowl. She eats soft food combined with high calorie kitten food because chewing a lot is still a chore! Maggie is also an adorable bobtail. Bobtails are anatomically a little different from regular cats. As a result, Maggie needs a little bit of Vaseline or antibiotic ointment on her bottom as she regains the hair on her bottom. Even amidst her healing process, Maggie has sustained a charming, loving nature. For her, life can only get better! Maggie is patiently waiting for her forever family in Huntsville, AL. She can’t wait to meet you.
