Apollo the Dog needs a home
APOLLO is a 3 yr old Pekingese with emotional issues who joined us from the DE SPCA recently. At the SPCA he was showing anxiety by attacking his tail. This appears to be more than just "kennel stress" as he has continued this behavior in his foster home, especially if over stimulated.
Apollo was seen at Crest View Animal Clinic, LLC and diagnoses with OCD behavior. We have started him in Clomacalm to "take the edge off" while we work in desensitizing him to the things that he over-reacts to. Apollo is good with other dogs although he dies guard his possessions so he would do best with a laid back canine companion he loves going for walks and "keeping him tired" is one if the Dr.'s orders!
Apollo is considered "special needs" and will be available to a family who can continue to work with him. We have high hopes for this guy and will keep you updated on his progress! Apollo has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested (neg) for heartworms. Adoption $100. Due to his "issues" we will only adopt Apollo out locally so that we can be supportive in his care.
