~~Hello My Name is Samantha (Sam) and I just turned one in November! I am a playful girl and get along well with my foster fur sister and the foster grand-dogs, both large and small, when they come to visit. I love toys and chasing balls but I am not 100% good at bringing them back to you. I love tug of war with people or other dogs! I am a Velcro dog that will follow you everywhere. I love to chew toys, but if there are none around I might chew a shoe. I got one of my foster mom’s shoes. I don't know why, but there was something about that one, because I have left all the other shoes alone since then. Now my foster mom has toys in every room, which I happily play with while she is away! I am not a barker, except when someone comes right to the door. I calm down when I see that everything is all right. I am crate trained but have been free to roam in the house with no issues, except for that one shoe that one time. I'm also allowed to roam the house freely when no one is home because I am completely housebroken. There are these things called cats and there are 5 of them here! I find them interesting and sniff but mostly leave them alone. There is one who will hiss and swat and that makes me want to play with him but I have never gone after him. I am pretty good on a leash as my foster dad walks both me and my fur sister together. I pull a little bit because I am just so excited but we have been working on it. What I really love is the backyard where I can run and play with my foster sister and visiting dogs. It helps with my energy. I am a little too excited for young children, but at Thanksgiving we had 14 people (teenagers and older), 4 dogs and 5 cats at my foster home and I behaved like a lady. I am very loyal and will look up with you with loving eyes and lay right by your feet. I love everyone and get very excited when my people come home! Could you make me a forever part of your family? If so, please work with your adoption coordinator. If you do not have an adoption coordinator, please complete an adoption application at southeastgermanshepherdrescue.com. I am being fostered in Durham, NC.
