Buckeye the Dog needs a home
To be considered for adopting a dog from Canine Lifeline, you must have an approved application must be on file. Please visit http://www.caninelifeline.org/adoption-process/ for more information about our adoption process and to submit an online application.
Meet Buckeye, a handsome 3-4 year-old Basset Hound/Dalmatian mix (or at least that’s our best guess) who was adopted from us about two years ago and recently returned because his family could no longer keep him. Buckeye is a very loyal and devoted dog who is looking for a quiet home with adults only where he can relax and enjoy life. He became overly protective of his family in his previous home and they were not equipped to work with him on that issue. Buckeye loves to play with other dogs so would really enjoy having a canine pal or two in his new home. He has excellent crate manners and was housetrained in his previous home so should pick up the house rules quickly in his new home. Buckeye knows a number of commands and is eager to sit and shake hands for a treat. He can also catch treats on the fly like a pro. A few too many treats in his previous home has led him to be a little on the heavy side so he’s working on losing about 10 pounds in his foster home. Buckeye loves to go for a walk but does best on an EZ Walk harness as he likes charging ahead to explore. The harness easily keeps him under control and makes walks much more enjoyable. Buckeye lived with cats previously but never lost interest in chasing them so would do best in a kitty-free home. Buckeye currently weighs about 62 pounds but needs to get down to about 50 pounds to be at his ideal weight. His adoption fee is $200. He’s neutered, heartworm negative and on monthly preventative, up to date on vaccinations, wormed, on flea preventative, and microchipped. All Canine Lifeline adoptions come with a two-week trial period to make sure it’s a great match before the adoption is finalized. Please email [email protected] if you’re interested in Buckeye. An approved application is required before we schedule meets with any of our dogs. We have no foster homes with young children so aren’t comfortable placing any of them in a home with children less than 4-5 years of age. We try to respond to inquiries within 24-48 hours so if you haven’t heard from us within that time frame, please check your junkmail or spam folder to make sure our reply hasn’t landed in there. Please visit our website at www.caninelifeline.org to see more photos of Buckeye and to submit an online application.
