Cora & Akira are favorites at the rescue because this mother and daughter pair have an incredible bond that can't be broken. Why they haven't found a forever home by now is a mystery.  There's absolutely nothing wrong with these sweet girls.

In 2012 Pet Angels pulled these girls out of the OKC shelter after they were picked up together as strays.   These beautiful girls were quickly adopted together, but sadly 4 years later, they were returned to our rescue.  The family moved and their new home would not accept dogs.  Cora and Akira live with other similar sized dogs at the rescue in a group environment and are always together.

Cora, the mom, is a beautiful, husky that is a bit shy and cautious at first but will warm up quickly and then show you her sweet personality.   She loves people and will be a very loyal companion.  She is the first to greet and welcome you in her dorm and will give you kisses. She loves treats and will sit on command.   Cora can run and chase a ball and is always up for a dog friendly competition to see who can get to the ball first.  True to her husky traits she howls when she hears a siren and has a strong prey drive and will chase cats, squirrels and other small critters.  Cora is searching for a devoted home for her and her daughter in hopes that it is a forever home.

Akira is a husky and we assume, but are not sure, little bit Shepherd mix.  She loves to have her belly rubbed and is a playful, sweet girl.  Akira loves people as long as you will let her give you a lot of kisses.  And her favorite thing is to get to go to the park and run really fast, as long as her mom gets to go with her.    She also likes treats just like her mom and will also sit on command. Akira's shepherd side is watchful and will alert you with a bark, but she will also join her mom when she howl's at a siren.

Cora and Akira have not shown any escape habits while at the rescue and seem to do fine with a 4 ft to 6 ft fenced in yard.
