Adopt a Labrador Retriever / Boxer / Mixed (short coat)

Shogun is a very sweet and good boy!  He loves people, kids, and other dogs!  He tries to make friends everywhere he goes.  He is (literally) best friends with our other foster, Tess.  You will see her in many of his pictures.  He has really good dog manners and communication.  He is a big derpy old lab soul!  (Picture old farm dog laying by the farmer that never leaves his side.)  He constantly wants to please his people.  He will be your shadow and best friend, perfect for a little boy or girl to grow up with.  Force free training is a must with him as he's very sensitive.  He works for treats, praise, and pets!  When he gets excited he Rue Rues!  (see video)  He doesn't bark a whole lot.  When he needs to go out and potty he touches the door knob with his nose.  He likes to carry the "skin" of his toys around and show them off or hopes to play tug with them.  Like any lab he just enjoys carrying things around in his mouth.  He enjoys a good bone or one filled with peanut butter.  He enjoys the mental stimulation of boredom busters as hes smart and curious and likes to figure things out.  He likes going for walks and hikes and walks best on a harness.  He is ok in the car now that he knows it means going to good places, especially when Tess goes too.  He would do well in any home but would be happiest with a friend to play with.  He is a little food aggressive with other dogs and sometimes possessive with new bones, unless it's Tess.  He just warns them they are getting too close when he's eating and that is ok.  He's probably missed some meals in the past.  He likes to sleep curled up in our smaller dog's dog bed.  He doesn't like being up on the couch or bed.   He's a really good dog.  How he ended up in the shelter so long is a mystery to me.
