Buttercup the Dog needs a home
Buttercup is a 3 year old Golden/Lab/Pyrenees Mix, or that is our best guess anyway.
She had a rough start in life and lived on the street while giving birth to 3 litters under deplorable conditions. It took years for street rescuers to successfully bring her into rescue with her adorable puppies (her last litter).
Once she was rescued, she was very shut down and ill. For months she wouldn't even look at the volunteers. After many months of recovery and 2 knee surgeries, she is finally ready for her forever home!
Buttercup is still very reserved and it takes her time to trust humans, so she needs a family that will be patient with her as she is learning to trust. She likes to go on walks and spend time sunning herself in the backyard.
She is very quiet, but if she sees a squirrel or bunny, she will protect her house from those vicious creatures.
Buttercup will do best in a home with another dog. Even though she doesn't play with dogs yet, she learns from them. When her foster mom had another foster pup in the house, she started eating out of her Foster Mom's hand, sleeping in her human's bedroom, and greeting her human at the door.
We want her to continue these wonderful dog behaviors, so we want her in a home with a 4 legged companion she can learn from. She is a beautiful young dog with an old soul!
Buttercup has an estimated birth date of February 7, 2014.
