Health: Grover has been neutered and microchipped. He is current on his DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies. He has been wormed, flea treated, and tested negative for heartworm.
History: Grover comes from an overcrowded shelter in California. PUP was asked to help and we are so glad we did. All dogs PUP pulls from California come with health certificates, as required by Washington state.
Notes from Grover's Foster Home:
Grover is a very sweet and happy-go-lucky guy. He has played well with small to medium sized dogs, and is curious but respectful with our indoor cat. He’s silly in that he loves carrying around and hiding soft things like socks, winter hats, stuffed animals, even bathrobes – but so far just hoards them and has not destroyed. Grover will sleep all night quietly in his crate and wait without whining for us to let him out, and will also sleep quietly in his crate in the car during work and errands. He enjoys walks and playing outside; he can jump high like a Jack Russell so could potentially be fun for agility training! He hasn’t tried to jump a fence, but with his long wiry body has climbed out of an ex-pen, so would need to be watched initially as to his escape abilities. Medium to Medium-high energy level, but also loves to snuggle with humans. He is a little shy and a bit fearful of sudden loud noises, like the hairdryer, vacuum, and sink disposal. Grover is very happy meeting respectful children and loves the attention. When he sees a young child, his eyes literally light up, and his tail starts wagging. He’s working on less face-licking of his humans but is so thankful and ecstatic for being rescued that he just has lots and lots of love to show – that happy tail never stops wagging. Grover would do best in an active home where he could play with respectful children and/or another friendly dog
Note: The above description reflects the behavior we have observed in the dog's foster home. Although PUP provides adopters up to the minute information on our dogs, we cannot guarantee they will behave in the same manner in a different environment with new owners.
