Adopt a Shepherd / Hound / Mixed
Birdy the Dog needs a home
Meet Birdy! She is a petite, 35 pound, Shepherd and Hound mix. Birdy has a wonderful story; not only did she raise 9 of her own puppies but when done with her babies she helped nurse another litter of pups whose mom was too sick to care for them. Birdy is almost ready to find her own forever family, she should be available around mid-February after she receives an all-clear from our vet. She is amazing with other dogs and is happy to meet them on and off leash. Birdy loves to run and play with other dogs, but quickly calms down inside the house. She also ignores the cat in her foster home. She is a little shy with new people at first but warms up quickly and is a real lover once she knows you. This beauty is both house and crate trained in her foster home, but will need some basic training and refreshers to learn the way with her forever family. She loves to go on her walks and is an easy walking partner, she is working on her leash skills in her foster home and will need some continued training on this. If you are ready for the rewarding experience that comes when you adopt a dog to add to your family, and are interested in meeting Birdy, or any of our other dogs, your first step is to fill out an adoption application on our website.
This information is as up to date and accurate as possible for the dog in its current environment. All dogs and puppies will need time and training to adjust to their new surroundings and to learn the rules of their new home. If you are interested in meeting one of our dogs, the first step is to complete the Adoption Form on our website at www.labsandmore.org and take some time to review our adoption process. Your adoption includes the spay or neuter, current vaccinations, microchip, and other services provided while in our care. The safety and health of our puppies is priority one, so we only allow approved applicants to meet and handle puppies. Please understand everything we do is for the dogs and conducted by our kind and generous volunteers. We rely solely on donations, and we do not profit from a dog's adoption. Labs and More is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that operates on donations and time dedicated to this cause by volunteers. Your adoption will save the life of future dogs in need. Labs and More makes no guarantees regarding the behavior, breed, or age of the dogs in our care. Although we strive to provide necessary medical care to dogs in our care, we cannot predict future or current medical needs whether they were symptomatic or not at the time of adoption.
