Shy - Gentle - Sweet Dave Gruel is a very sweet boy who takes a bit to get to know you, but once you have earned his trust, he will happily let you pick him up and love on him. He's low-maintenance and doesn't require a lot of expensive toys or active playtime. All he needs is someone to gently pet him and tell him what a good boy he is. In return, he will be your most loyal and loving friend. Dave LOVES other cats! He would benefit from a cat friend who is super confident and outgoing to show him the ropes. Older children, such as teenagers, would be fine for this shy boy, but small children and dogs would probably be too scary, at least at this point. Dave Gruel is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. He is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats.
