Mookie the Cat needs a home
Mookie was born to a semi-feral mom that was trapped in the city in 2013. He is a very handsome boy with sleek, shiny fur and beautiful spotted and striped markings with white on his face, neck, chest and paws. Mookie is a very sweet and docile kitty but like his buddy, Stitch, he is very shy and timid and needs time and patience to build trust with his humans. He can spook easily by sudden movements and loud sounds, and will sometimes hiss when he's frightened, but that's all he does; he doesn't have a mean or aggressive bone in his body and will usually run off to a hiding spot when he feels insecure. However, once he gets to know you and he's in a calm environment, he's your best friend and will roll onto his back to show you his tummy and beg for tummy rubs. He's very affectionate when he wants attention and purrs non-stop when he's loving on you. He would rather lay on your or next to you than be held, but that's not uncommon for kitties, especially shy ones, as they do not feel secure when being picked up. He's quite the talker too and squeaks when he's super happy or excited, especially when canned food is in the vicinity. He loves to play with toys and cuddle with his kitty friends. It would be great if he and Stitch could go to a home together, but not a necessity. However, it's important that Mookie have another kitty friend in his adoptive home to help him feel comfortable and secure and acclimate to his surroundings. He may do okay with a calm, cat-friendly dog, but no children please. Mookie is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and negative for FeLV/FIV - DOB 4/8/13, tag # 8257. Shy kitties are so often overlooked, but they usually make the best pets because they bond so deeply with their humans. Please consider giving Mookie or another one of our shy kitties a chance; they promise not to disappoint!
