Mariko is an orange and white Manx/Domestic Shorthair kitty born approximately 3/19/17. She is the perfect cat, even with her disabilities. She has grown into a sweet and funny girl with lots of personality. She loves to wrap her body around your neck or sit on your chest when you are relaxing or sleep curled up on your bed with you. She is affectionate but not a total lap or velcro cat. She amuses herself with toys, climbs the cat tree, or will play with other foster cats or kittens. She is also accustomed the fosters small dog and she loves sitting in a screened in patio

She has some unique qualities that make her stand out from others – As you can see, her eyes are slightly crossed and she has no tail! Her back end and hind legs are not as strong as a normal cat so she runs differently, her back end sways a little and she can't jump as effectively as others, so we nicknamed her "Bunny". She can climb and makes some jumps but can't use her hind legs to propel her up like normal kitties. Because she was born with no tail, some of her spinal cord segments have a malformation and therefore she has a weak anal tone. Mariko came up with her own way to use the litter box when she goes potty…by standing on the edge of the box, she uses “gravity” to have her stool drop from her behind into the litter box! She has no issues with urination.  We are hoping for a person or family that can give her the special attention she needs and be patient and gentle with her. .

Mariko is spayed, FIV/Felv tested negative, microchipped, vaccinated (including rabies), fecal tested negative and dewormed. She is litter box trained.
