Adopt a Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat)

HI, I’m Duncan! I’m adorable and I know it. I really know how to tug at your heart, and I will flash my cuteness around every chance that I get! I’m a spunky and energetic young boy with a knack for cuddling. I enjoy snuggling up to my humans or my furry foster siblings just as much as I love running around playing with them, but I could wrestle with my doggy friends for hours. Giving kisses is also a specialty of mine! I enjoy kitties too - I normally leave them alone, but I have to admit that it’s pretty fun to chase after them if they try running from me! I love meeting new people and greet them with a smile and a tail wag, but I like them to give me a little space so I can learn to trust them first. Sometimes I try to be a little protective of my humans when new people come around, but as long as my humans let me meet them the way that I like, I know that I don’t need to protect them at all. I just love my people so much and don’t want anything to happen to them! I bond to my humans very quickly and I just want to be by their side all the time. I am mostly potty trained and will let you know when I need to go outside by scratching at the door, but every once in a while I may have an accident if nobody is paying attention to my needs. I don’t mind my crate much, but sometimes I do get sad that I can’t be next to my human so I cry a little bit. Eventually I settle in and go to sleep peacefully. I’m very proud of my jumping skills, and can jump really high! I like to jump over the back of the couch for a snuggle, and every once in a while I even jump on the table. I’m learning that foster mommy doesn’t like that very much, so I’m trying not to do it any more. My foster mommy always tells me I’m smart and what a good listener I am. When she tells me “no” I listen to her and roll over and show her my belly to tell her how sorry I am. She doesn’t stay mad long because nobody can resist my cuteness! Although I love my foster family and am happy there, all I really want is a permanent home where I can settle in and be loved for the rest of my life.
