Adopt a Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat)
Sasha the Dog needs a home
This sweet little nugget is long overdue for a safe, loving home. She was mistreated by her original owners and not protected from the large dog who attacked her when left alone. She has long since healed from that experience, but still has some fear around large dogs. Her family over-crated her after the attack to protect her from the other dog, but then gave her away, and she has been passed around to friends and family since. Luckily, Sasha found an advocate in her current foster mom, Angela, who reached out to rescue for help.
Angela sent us this description of lovely Sasha:
"Sasha is a wonderful little girl. She is very mellow, runs to greet you, and loves to cuddle on your lap and in bed. She is potty, crate, and leash trained, and will bark to alert but is not a constant barker. She loves to go for rides in the car, and is as near to perfect as anyone could want. Sasha gets along with dogs her size, if introduced properly, but cannot be around large dogs. Sasha and my other Chi mix love to run and chase each other around the yard. She is still fearful of my large dogs and will growl and show her teeth if they get too close to her. She will lay on opposite ends of the couch with them but gives them a wide berth when walking around. She ran to my 14 year old grandson and jumped up and sat on his lap. She also crawled on my 7 year old granddaughter’s lap, so she appears to be used to conscientious children."
More to come on Sasha as we get to know her. We plan to bring her to N. VA on 2/17.

You can also help save dogs like this one by becoming a foster, providing a rescue dog with a temporary home and giving them the love and care they need until they are permanently adopted. Every person who fosters is directly responsible for saving the life of a dog, because we can only save as many dogs as we have foster families available to welcome them into their homes. If you think you might be interested in becoming a foster and want to learn more, please go to http://foster.worthydog.org and fill out an application.
